An impressive late 19th century high quality French "Cupidon et Le Taureau" bronze figural mantle clock. The clock takes the form of a patinated bronze Cupido finial holding his bow and arrow and a large Bull that supports the gilt bronze pendulum clock highly adorned with foliages having a bronze dial, cartouche of enamel roman numerals, black metal hands and protective front and rear framed glass doors. The Bull is attached on a richly decorated solid gilt bronze base and raise on a four scrolling leaf feet.

The clock is in very good condition and is in full working order with striking bell every hour and half an hour.  The movement is with maker's mark '"AD Mougin Deux Medailles'.  A.D. Mougin was a well known French clock maker who settled at Rue de Turenne 75 Paris in mid 19th century and his expertise was acknowledge with two medals from Clock Exhibitions and used this "Deux Medailles" as his trademark and stamped on the back of his clocks. Made in France circa 1870.
