Charming Victorian era campaign writing box. High quality crafted burr walnut lap desk having brass side handles and accents featuring an engraved brass plate named to G. J. Phillips dated May 4th 1871 and an original Bramah lock. Top lid opens to reveal a writing slope with tooled ocher leather writing surface, compartments for inkwells with two inkwells, writing pens and nibs tray and two secret document storage under the leather board. Made in London, England circa 1870's. In very good condition with traces of wear and other details consistent to age. Kindly refer to the images as integral part of the description.
