Charming antique pair of gilt bronze candle holders. Fine crafted ormolu set features a flaming finial convertible to candlesticjs, reliëf of garland cherubs and ram's head, richly decorated column and plinth, raised on four round feet base. Underneath a visible initial letters "CH RS" associated with Henri Picard, a well-known French founder and gilder producing high quality decorative objects (ref. https://www.antiquesvanelsen.com/new-arrivals/antique-french-gilt-bronze-fireplace-fender). In very good condition with minor traces of wear, verdigris in places, light candle stains and other details consistent to age and artisan craftsmanship.
