Authentic antique miniature oil on panel painting depicts a fisherman in a sailboat on a river bank by Romain Steppe (Belgium, 1859-1927) Belgian school, impressionist painter of river landscapes, marines and countryside sceneries. He had a preference for atmospheric images in small formats. He settled and held several expositions across Europe and came back to Belgium in the late 1800. This artwork is signed to the lower left corner and dated 1888. It is housed in a gilt and green polychrome wood frame, made in Bruges, Belgium by Au Petit Musée - A & C Longueville. In very good condition with minor traces of wear and few details consistent to age. Kindly refer to the images as integral part of the descriptions. I do my best to provide photos that honestly reflect the character of the piece. Actual colors may vary slightly from photos.
