A lovely 19th century terracotta group of Madonna and Child. A detailed gilt and polychrome terracotta sculpture depicting Our Lady carrying    Child Jesus holding globe in his hand, on cushion in her left arm while standing on a crescent moon attached on a gilt rococo sculpted wooden plinth. In good condition with traces of wear such as missing parts and natural cracks on terracotta,  polychrome loss in places, treated old wood worms holes and other details commensurate to age, with very charming aging patina. This is a masterpiece of a craftsman with high technical and artistic skill implied through the facial expressions and the meticulous attention to every detail, a stunning altar artwork!
