Attractive pair of matching Satsuma crackled earthenware vases. Beautifully crafted in a classic urn shape having rings to two top-set handles with rich accents of gold handpainted figures depicting a garden scene of traditionally dressed women, one reading a book while being attended by two ladies, also the presence of playing children. Each vase is richly decorated with moriage beadings in shades of cobalt blue, orange, yellow, violet and green. A matte brown accent proximate to the base, underneath with visible markings. In very good condition with traces of wear, fading gold patina and minor details consistent to age. Kindly refer to the pictures as integral part of the descriptions.
