Impressive Rococo solid bronze inkwell in the style of Louis XV, elaborately decorated with floral and foliate ornaments flanked by twin swirling snakes having inner glass ink receivers and both with removable salamander finials.  A deep curve at the middle intended for pen rest, wide foliate C scrolling on shaped feet and remains of original gilding patina underneath.  In very good solid and heavy condition with restorations to keep the snakes on its place, an old crack on the back part, minor traces of wear and few details consistent to age. Very decorative in reference to its size.
